Here today..Gone tomorrow

Last week,my co-sister lost her mom to a deadly infection.
I know this happens all the time, everywhere.
But when it happens in our family,to people close to us,we suddenly sit up and rub our eyes.
We become so busy with our mundane, routine lives, doing what we think is important things in life, that we just get lost sometimes in the rat race and its almost like we are swept along with others running the same race, and everyone around us look blurred. We don't really cherish these people, because we somehow assume they will be with us forever, and we can talk to them tomorrow when we have more time.
But time flies, and before we know it,these same people are gone.
Then we wonder, did we say all the things we had to?did we do all the things we wanted to do with them?did we gather as many memorable moments as possible with them?
Most of the time, its a shameful no.
So,lets slow down, take the time, and acknowledge the people around us.
Talk to your kids, hug your spouse everyday, chat with your family about everything, sing songs with them, laugh with them, visit your friends, give your cousins a call, reminisce about your childhood, and listen....listen to your grandfather's life stories...again..
listen to your dad's stories of struggle to come up in life...again...
listen to your children's exciting stories of their friends and their small world...again..
Lets value the people in our lives and give them their due value and time, and acknowledge their presence.
After all,we are all here on borrowed time.
